FB#.P

Description

This parameter is the 64 bit position of the feedback deviceClosed A process whereby some proportion of the output signal of a system is passed (fed back) to the input. In automation, a device coupled to each motor to provide indication of the motor's shaft angle, for use in commutating the motor and controlling its speed and position. The position is given in counts. The parameter takes actual feedback position (with resolution specified in FB#.RES ) and converts it into a format of 32:32.

  • For rotary feedback, the upper 32 bits represent the number of motor turns and the lower 32 bits represent the position within one turn.

  • For linear feedback, the upper 32 bits represent the number of motor pole-pairs and the lower 32 bits represent the position within one pole-pair distance of the motor.

Example

Rotary feedback position = 542,456,123,450 or 0111 1110 0100 1100 1110 0111 1001 0000 0011 1010 binary

Number of turns = 0111 1110 binary or 126 decimal

Position within a turn = 0100 1100 1110 0111 1001 0000 0011 1010 binary or 1,290,244,154 decimal
